BH 90-92
Producer note: François Bertheau, who manages this 6.2 ha domaine (half of which is in villages level vineyards), said in his typically understated manner that 2013 was as "difficult a vintage as 2012 where our yields were off almost as much, which is to say fully 60% relative to a normal crop. I was frankly relieved when the harvest finally started because we went from worrying about one thing after another and it never seemed to stop. Thankfully the wines are good, in fact better than I expected, which oddly enough is exactly what happened with the 2012s. The 2013s are a bit less structured and should please everyone as there's nothing not to like."

Tasting note: Here too a deft application of wood frames a more restrained and more complex nose that is comprised of red and blue pinot fruit, spice and floral elements. There is a really lovely texture to the mouth coating and utterly delicious medium weight flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the bright, clean and distinctly saline-inflected finish. Lovely juice that should be approachable young if desired.
